600,000 PDP members defect to Labour Party in Ebonyi


NO fewer than 600,000 members of the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP) in Ebonyi State, including two serving members of the House of Representatives, the senator representing Ebonyi North senatorial zone in the National Asembly, Chief Chris Nwankwo, 15 members of the state House of Assembly, commissioners and opinion leaders, on Wednesday, defected to the Labour Party (LP) .

The Labour Party in the state has also elected candidates to contest the various elective positions ahead of the 2015 general election, during the mega rally organised by the mainstream PDP members in the state.
A renowned industrialist and chief executive of Barcelona Hotel in Abuja, Mr Edward Nkwegu was elected the party’s governorship candidate.
Other candidates who clinched the party’s tickets included Senator Chris Nwankwo, vying for Ebonyi North senatorial zone; Chief Sam Agom Eze for Ebonyi South senatorial zone and Chief Elechi Nnana Elechi for Central zone.

Besides, candidates were elected.
