There is a spot of deja vu for Tottenham fans on Wednesday
morning as, once again, stories swirl about that Spurs may about to be taken
over.
According to The Sun, Tottenham are been eyed by the Qatari
government, with rumours that the Gulf state may try to by the Yiddos for a
cool £1 billion.
Of course, this is far from the first time Spurs have been
rumoured to be the subject of a takeover bid, as back in September similar
whispers were doing the rounds claiming that 77-year-old Spurs owner Joe Lewis
wanted to cash in on the Lillywhites.
Back then, Spurs rubbished those reports, issuing a
statement that read:
Contrary to recent press speculation, neither the Club, nor
its majority shareholder, are in any takeover discussions and the focus of the
club is fully on delivering the new stadium project.
Ignoring that completely, today’s Sun farts:
Spurs are being lined up by the Qatari government for a
£1billion takeover.
The Arabian nation’s sports minister Salah bin Ghanem bin
Nasser al-Ali says they want a Premier League club as the Gulf state’s next
sporting investment.
We’ll believe it when we see it!
